Liebster Award Nomination

Liebster Award Nomination.

Last week I was generously nominated for an award! What a gorgeous thing!

The lovely & talented Caro Ness of fame has bestowed upon me this honour of the Liebster Award nomination…thank you Caro :))

The Liebster award is given to up & coming bloggers, encourages  &  helps us to find new blogs.

The rules of the Liebster Award:

When you receive the award, you post 11 random facts about yourself and answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you.

Pass the award onto 11 other blogs (make sure you tell them you nominated them!) and ask them 11 questions. You are not allowed to nominate the blog who nominated you!

The questions that were asked of me were….

1. Have you an ambition you still want to complete?

Yes, I want to buy each of my 3 children a home.

2. Which 5 famous people (dead or alive) would you choose to have dinner with in a virtual world?

Ray Martin, Jim Rohn, Oprah Winfrey, Jamie Oliver & Janis Joplin.

3. What is your favourite book?

I have always struggled with that question “what is your favourite….?” For me, there are too many awesome books, colours, foods etc to limit myself to just a specific one. I love biographies though.

4. Do you have a phobia about anything, if so what?

Yes, water past my waist…

5. If you could choose to travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Vietnam (plenty of other places too)

6. If I could wave my wand and grant you a wish, what would it be?

To have my ideal partner by my side till my dying day :)) that  he’d land on my windscreen & say ‘Here I am!” ‘cause I forget to stop & look around….:))

7. What is your favourite smell and why?

Mmmm, I love gorgeous smells, they stimulate the senses & are loaded with promise.

8. If you could be the hero of a book or film, which would it be and who would you be?

I’ve sat with this one for days…just can’t think of anyone, sorry.

9. What is your favourite meal to cook and to eat?

Absolutely my favourite meal to cook & to eat is anything for & with my loved ones.

10. What is your favourite colour?

Depends on the application for use….

11. Is there a quote you think particularly brilliant and you wish you could have come up with, what is it and who said it?

Not brilliant, just cute…”If God had intended us to follow recipes, He wouldn’t have given us grandmothers.” Linda Henley.

11 Random facts about me…

  1. After shockingly losing a restaurant due to unfair & unjust circumstances, some of my amazing friends & family took me to Japan to be the surprise birthday gift to my God daughter who lives there.
  2. As a primary school child I sometimes wrote, illustrated & read my own little stories to the younger students.
  3. I am the eldest of 11 siblings, (how appropriate for this challenge) 8 girls & 3 boys, no twins, in a period of 13 years, fun times :))
  4. I sang light opera in front of 200 people once & nearly died of fear!
  5. Have always been attracted to live music, spent years hosting band practises in my home, feeding musicians, billeting international players, & generally starting the crowds getting on the floor to dance at performances. (Not so comfortable with that bit, but people are like lemmings… :))
  6. Was widowed at 36 & immediately had to become the primary bread-winner, which was when I started to become a chef & then business owner.
  7. I have a degree in Fine Arts, was planning on teaching so I would have the same hours as the kids when they were still at school. Life happens & it didn’t eventuate. My art goes into my food now!
  8. I can’t swim. Neither can my mum, so consequently we were always told to stay away from the dams on the land. As a result, despite many attempts, I just haven’t been able to conquer that one. Yet!
  9. My best friend in high school was Nick Cave (of The Bad Seeds fame) & my family lived next to Mel Gibson for a time & helped him out with farming needs.
  10. I have had Bells Palsy, been in 2 rolled & written off cars & walked away, & discovered my body is an amazing healer. I am blessed & highly favoured. And eternally grateful.
  11. I strive for an attitude of gratitude always (not always successfully I might add :)) but it so fills me up & overflows into everything. Almost daily I want to throw my arms wide & swirl around in the breeze…mostly my bones are too old, or I don’t stop long enough, so it’s just in my mind!
